Ever wondered what all the details on our coffee labels mean? They’re more than just words—they tell the story of your coffee, from its origin to its roast and everything in between. Here’s a quick guide to help you explore and appreciate every sip even more.

    • Country of Origin:Brazil, Guatemala or Ethiopia.

    • Specific Region: Like Yirgacheffe (Ethiopia) or Guaxupe (Brazil)

    • Farmer or Producer Names: We will often highlight a specific farmer name or producer to give more specific details to the story of the coffee.

    • Blend: If you see "blend," it means we’ve combined coffees from multiple origins for a unique flavor experience.

    • Fun Names: Sometimes a coffee is so endeering to us that we need to give it some fun naming attributes.

🔥 Roast

  • Description: We highlight key details about the roast, especially if there is something important to know about this variant.

  • Identifiers:

    • Specialty Roast: Our roaster has fine-tuned it to bring out the best in that particular coffee—without sticking to traditional “light” or “dark” labels. We want you to experience coffee beyond the status quo.

    • Barrel Aged: Coffee beans aged in barrels previously used for aging spirits, imparting unique flavors.

    • Holiday Blend: A special blend created for the holiday season, often featuring festive and warming flavor notes.

🌿 Process

  • Description: This describes how the coffee was processed after harvest.

  • Terms to Know:

    • Washed: Clarity and clean flavors without extra influences of the pulp in the drying process.

    • Natural: Addition of fruity and sweet notes influenced by the pulp in the drying process.

    • Honey: Drying is done with a layer of the mucilege from the coffee cherry to add sweet and nuanced characteristics to the overall flavor.

🌱 Variety

  • Description: Coffee flavor isn’t just about where it’s grown—it’s also about what’s grown.

  • Example: While most of our coffee falls under the Arabica category, there are hundreds of coffee varieties, each with unique characteristics. Exploring different varietals is a fun way to dive deeper into the world of coffee.

☕ Tasting Notes

  • Description: With high-grade specialty coffee, there’s a whole spectrum of flavors to unlock. We highlight the flavors that we have identified and/or brought out in the roasting process. They can be anywhere on the spectrum from vivid and in your face to a hint of something lovely in the background.

  • No Added Flavors: These aren’t flavors added to the coffee—they’re natural tasting notes that emerge through careful roasting and brewing. As you sip, pay attention to the subtle hints of fruit, chocolate, caramel, florals, or spices that make each coffee unique.

📆 Roast Date

  • Description: This is the day we transformed raw green coffee beans into a delicious masterpiece.

  • We deliver Fresh : This is Specialty Coffee! Therefore, we always want to deliver our coffee within its prime flavor window—giving it time to degas while ensuring you get the freshest, most flavorful experience.

  • In the Market Place: You will find a wide range of dates in regards to how fresh the coffee you are buying can be. Much of the commodity coffee in grocery stores can have a shelf like anywhere from several months to over a year or more. Roasted coffee doesn't really "spoil" but the flavors and aromas of any coffee will dissipate over time and as it's introduced to oxygen and other environmental elements.

Next time you grab a bag of coffee, take a closer look at the label. There’s a whole world of flavor waiting to be discovered
